Issues/Needs:. The high prevalence of obesity has serious health consequences in not only the children’s current life but also their future health status and disease outcomes. Preventing obesity during childhood is crucial because habits that are formed during childhood are often carried throughout adulthood. A child who is obese has a 20% chance of becoming an obese adult and obese adolescents have an 80% chance of becoming obese adults.
Extension Response: EFNEP Program Assistant in Forsyth County, teamed up with North Hills Elementary’s Parent Involvement Coordinator and Kindergarten teacher to establish a series of six 4-H EFNEP classes using The Adventures
