Some parents do great job in taking care if what they eat, but some families do not watch that their child is eating and it's causing the to get obese. Obesity is a big major public health problem because the children tend to have health problems, social and psychological problems, and are more likely to become obese adults.
To start of with, children's tend to have health problems just as high blood pressure and high cholesterol and end of having diabetes(Tran 5). “One main cause of obesity would be the children having poor eating habits. By increasing your child’s physical activity can help them maintain a healthy lifestyle and a weight safety. Get involved with the kids and get them to go outside at least for an hour and play with with them for they would not get bored. It would help your child from becoming obese and also it will help you get closer with them (Roth). Get your child enrolled with sports at school, church,the community, or anywhere that involves physical activity (Tran 11). Also, “Limit screen time, too. Children that are obese tend to have low-self esteem (The Emotional Toll of Obesity). They tend to have low-esteem because some children get bullied at school and can not defend themselves against the bullies(The Emotional Toll of Obesity). They bullies usually make them feel ugly and fat and cause them to not like themselves and go under depression. Their weak self-esteem can translate into feelings of shame about his body, and his lack of self-confidence can lead to poor academic performance at school. As time passes by they will slowly start closing in within themselves and get under depression(The Emotional Toll of Obesity). Other causes that can occur would be that they would tend to stop eating a lot for a long period of time and they can end up having anorexia. Thirdly, children with poor help nutrition from childhood can continue into their adulthood.
