Many things were discovered this period that can lead to serious change. First, the researchers discover by offering a healthy snack it reduces a child’s hunger immediately. Next, students tend to increase their consumption of different nutrients during lunch but then reduce the consumption of said nutrients at lunch. In addition, the researchers discovered that by increasing availability of healthy snacks such as fruits and vegetables during other times than lunch does not lead to increased consumption. This is because children have an innate ability to self regulate food consumption. So, if they are not hungry during different parts of the day other than lunch, then they will not eating other snacks. But, school should make an effort to offer healthier alternative during designated snack time. When the students brought in their own snacks from home, the researchers noted that the students would not bring an appropriate snack that would benefit the student with nutritional intake. That being said, schools should begin offering healthy alternatives for the students in case they would rather have that then the snack they brought in. Now, with any study, they’re limitations. Such being with limited resources, the sample was too small to generalize their findings. In addition, the researchers would only monitor the student’s food intake during school and calculate the nutritional intake during that time. The researchers did not have a log of what the students were consuming outside of school. Nevertheless, this study was still able to reduce hunger in students and therefore help students with school
