Childhood obesity is a growing problem, for which multi-disciplinary interventions and program activities are needed. For our Health Program, the first activity would be to recruit staff, in particular, Nutrition and Physical Activity Specialist, and Volunteers (undergrad or graduate student majoring in health science or a health-related field). To get children and their parents to attend/join our program, we will partner up with several schools in low- income neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Schools are an ideal target, given the propensity to prevent obesity through the promotion of physical activity, nutritious food offerings, and nutrition education. Also, we will post flyers within those schools, including many others and pop- up at parent teachers
