It will give them a pie chart of the percentages of CHO, fats and proteins so when they scan something and it increases a category over the limit they know to either balance it out will correct caloric intake of chose another food. It will also read sugars as well to help keep out high fats that are actually saturated (bad) fats and to be avoided. This will be something we will encourage from day to day or a minimum of a 4 week span. Allowing them to track their progress and set goals for higher lower or equal intake of calories and percentages of macronutrients to fit their goals of body management. Change their expectations and self-efficacy by giving them the knowledge and confidence to shop healthy; collective efficacy to bring their knowledge home to their families and succeed at their goals. We will gave changes the way they see advertisements in the media, making them question the facts and not believe everything written in bold print on a box. Given them a great tool in the food application to continue and set goals for themselves. Plus we have showed them the errors in the way they used to shop, hopefully cutting out the unhealthy foods kept around the home. With all of these ideas put to use there is no doubt in my mind that these parents will be eating healthier, tickling down to their children and cutting into the childhood obesity
