The event was presented by Ginette Wilson, BA Hons, RECE Early Learning and Child Care Program Consultant.
The intended audience at the event were mostly Niagara College ECE students and students from different schools too, RECE’s, parents and Infant and Toddler teachers from different schools.
The format of presentation was nice and organized. There were snacks on one side of the gym. Tables were all set up in the middle of the gym and different activity areas for hands on experience and fun were set up at the back of the gym. After talking and discussing about the infant and toddler room environment and behaviors, we had a little 5 minutes loo break and later on towards the end we had some fun with the activities set up at the back of the gym. In the end we were handed over our certificates. All the hands on activities at the back of gym and on the tables in front of us were great items to learn from (some of the activities were sensory foot pads, mirror tunnel, scooping exercise, etc.), we were allowed to take pictures of the activities for our future references. I had a fun time playing with those activities. The PowerPoints were great, it talked about some new things that I was not aware of and some terms that I heard for the first time like Schema play. It was nicely organized. There were few videos too relating toddler play but unfortunately the internet was down at the time of presentation, but I watched it later at home.
