I was born in Sinaloa, Mexico. I moved to the U.S. in the summer of 1999. At first I was difficult, but I learned to adapt. I grew up in Colorado mostly Greeley and Windsor. I had a very tough childhood because of problematic and alcoholic parents. My teen years weren’t so good either. I got kicked out of my parents’ house when I was sixteen years old. When my parents kicked me out of their house, I moved in with my boyfriend with whom I had a son named Emmanuel. In my early adulthood things started to change. I always knew I wanted to have an education, but I couldn’t because of my legal status. In 2012, president Obama, passed the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM ACT) which allowed undocumented immigrants to obtain a temporary …show more content…
I worked as a CNA for a few years to pay for nursing school. Working as a CNA was one of the experiences I’ve had because I learned to love and value the elderly for they were once our heroes. Therefore, they deserve our love, care, and respect. I graduated from nursing school and worked as a geriatric nurse for a couple of years. After nursing school I decide to take a break from school and decided to have a second child. I had a beautiful daughter and named her Veronika. A couple of years after Veronika was born I went back to school and got into medical school to become a pediatrician. I also worked as a pediatric nurse for a couple to help pay for medical school. After many years of hard work and good behavior I became a U.S. citizen. After graduating from medical school, I worked as a pediatrician for many years. When Emmanuel and Veronika graduated from high school, and got into college, I decided to take a break from work and decide to travel the world for a few years until the kids graduated from college.
