(My answers for these were taken from both past conversations I have had with the director as well as my cooperating teacher since the director was gone recently due to a family issue out of state. I saw here very briefly on my last day for the first time in a while and because she was in the middle of something I only got to thank her for letting me be there this semester before I left. So, I am focusing mostly on the program’s newly expanding private school named Legacy Christian Academy which the kindergarten class I was with falls under because that’s where I was able to get most of my information.)

This includes a $450 supply fee and $2800 tuition. They had to raise their supply fee because they charged too little this past year and had to take a loss on textbooks.
Marketing:
• First Baptist is a large network. Most of the people that use the program go to church there and live nearby. With the expansion into a first grade program, there have been signs for Legacy Christian Academy placed around the church. With the size of the program being so small they haven’t needed to do much outside the church.
Working with Families:
• There is a lot of parent communication at First Baptist with all ages. The younger children are sent home with a summary of what they did for the day, what that had for lunch, reminders of upcoming activities and any other notes the teacher has for that day.
• The kindergarten class has Friday folders that are sent home with them. It has a summary of their work, their grades for the week and any other information parents might need.
Most difficult responsibility:
• Balance between running the facility and having to fill in for/help teachers. The director also has to answer to members of the church staff as well, so she has to pass a lot of things by them regarding the program instead of just implementing them
