Childcare Center Observation

An unannounced monitoring, inspection was conducted on 12/3/2015. I arrived at the operation which is located at 5490 US HWY 59S about 9:35 am. I was greeted by Jana Gonzalez the assistant director, Ms. Gonzalez stated Keri Warren was out sick. I handed her business card and then explained the purpose of my inspection and reviewed the subchapters I would be observing.
I prepared for the inspection by reviewing the frequency of inspections made, observing the operations, compliance history, the operations fee history, background check list and controlling person list.
Director present: no
Director qualifications: Keri Warren qualifies under 746.1015(a) (1); non expiring. Evaluated Director qualification, Ms. Warren qualifies with a Bachelors

Center is on food program with CACFP-CCC, last audit was 2/12/13. Jana Gonzalez is the cook/assistant director at this time. Lunch was served at inspection, which consisted of Corn dogs, carrots, applesauce, pork & beans, milk and water. The infant classrooms eat in their room while all other classes eat in the main …show more content…
Ms. Cannon stated she has a roll sheet she completes when the children enter the van and exited the van. Ms Cannon stated pulls up to the front door of the center and Kerri or Jana help with getting the children off the van while she conducts a face to face roll of children. Ms. Cannon states she then does a second check of van to ensure all children are off. Kasey stated Krystal Gray or Angie Wilson fill in as bus drivers if she is absent.
Field Trips: Jana Gonzalez stated field trips are only conducted in the summers with children 7 years and older. Jana stated a permission slip goes home with the children and they post signs on the door the week before the trip with all the important information as to where they are going and how long they will be gone.
Playground equipment: There are two playgrounds present at the operation. The small playground is used for children 2 and younger and the large playground is used for children 3 and older. Both playgrounds had bikes, playhouses and basketball goals appropriate for their ages. Neither playground has equipment that requires loose fill at this
