Child Soldiers

When one thinks about a soldier, what do you think comes to that one’s mind? In my mind a soldier is a person who willingly choose to serve and defend their country. A solder that is over the age of 18 and who has joined to help not hurt. Little did I know that over thousands of children are serving as soldiers in armed conflicts all over the world. That there are boys and girls under the age of 18 serving in things such as government forces and armed opposition groups. That they are doing a number of things such as fighting on the front lines, participating in suicide missions, acting as spies, messengers, or lookouts, taking direct part in hostilities or being used for political advantage as human …show more content…
Slavery is defined by a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them. When these children become a part of this military, they become illegal property to the people that they are obeying, and with some doing so willingly slavery in my opinion would not be the best way to describe such a situation. This can be better described as an extreme type of child labor. Child labor is defined by the use of children in industry or business, especially when illegal or considered inhumane.
