Child soldiers are most commonly present in developing countries and sought out by many warlords because they can fight for longer and do not disrespect orders given to them. Most child soldiers are 15 to 17 years old and at this time in adolescence, they, are very impressionable and malleable. Because of this countless children around the world lose their innocence and childhood to the people that give them false hopes and promises to fight for them. Since most child soldiers are children from third world countries their families are usually impoverished and these warlords take advantage of this. In many cases child, soldiers sign contracts of about 10 years to secure their families safety and health, but what they don’t know is that that 10 year period of service is just the beginning. This helps illustrate the analysis that child soldiers should be granted amnesty because they are not able to as clearly discern what is right and what is wrong. Why this matters is that children, unlike adults, cannot tell that they are being taken advantage of and after they are brainwashed by their commanders they don't know what they are doing is a war crime.
