Child Soldiers In Civil War

There were many civil wars that have taken place on the African continent for decades. Many unstable countries are at the advantage of having assistance from the somewhat more stable neighbors. The likelihood of a country to be in civil war is high if it takes place in a neighboring country. The genocide in Rwanda had not only spread the murderous act across the country but also with its neighboring countries. Today, children who have been denied education and are trained to fight in wars are manipulated by local political leaders. Wars have continued in Sierra Leone following a coup, with many of them being under 18 years of age. A current situation of this occurring is the civil war in South Sudan that has been an ongoing conflict since 2013, in which the country has been gathering as many children to fight under commanders from both the government and opposition forces. …show more content…
Will some countries just have to face that there will not be going to be much, if any, of the young generation because of them being defeated and destroyed by the memories and atrocities of their youth? Young people have been involved in warfare and political conflict for many years and in many parts of the world. This paper will focus on how the recruitment and use of child soldiers will have a major impact on the victims’ lives, using the past case of child soldiers in the Sierra Leone Civil War in correlation to the recruitment and lives of child soldiers in ongoing civil wars, particularly the South Sudanese Civil War, and what this means for other countries experiencing ongoing civil
