In much of the world particularly unstable countries, the reality is when conflict breaks out children are quickly swept up. Numbers of conflicts involving child combatants has dropped since 2004 from twenty-seven to seventeen. Human right experts estimate that there are still more than 300,000 child soldiers worldwide. These groups that are making the kids fight are fighting for a share of each country's timber, copper, gold, diamonds and much more, each of these sides relied on their child soldiers. Every time I was around them I felt one step away from death, because one wrong move could lead these innocent children to killers that do not care about death. For these children killing became so easy for them and them killing did not stop until they were killed. That is how many of these child soldiers become killed and forgotten. That is how my friend died when he was attacked by these kids that do not know what they are doing. Half of his head was blown away while he was just sitting in the back seat of his car.
If a child is too young to fight, then they are too young to be responsible. People remain silent on age of responsibility of wilful killing, torture and inhumane treatment. These children are being pushed by adult commanders into killing the innocent. These children that commit bad war crimes are not prosecuted, are then given bad orders from their commanders to kill higher
