Informative Sex Talk Analysis

At a certain point, every child should receive an informative sex talk. While certain differences separate both sexes, the context will be delivered in the same manner. Each delivery will be divergent due to differing morals, background, and other considerations involving each parent. I have two younger brothers. Although they are not my children, I have initiated conversations that they probably would have chosen to avoid. My way of engaging with them has always been forthright from a friendly standpoint. This is how I envision my approach as a parent. It would strike more anxiety to not address a topic, versus tackling the content of what needed to be discussed. It would be made clear that sex was not limited to penile-vaginal intercourse. However, I would go into detail on how that sort of intercourse leads to the conception of a child. She would be informed that the sperm from a man and the egg of a woman combine to form into what eventually grows into a baby. Furthermore, I would inform her that certain individuals who cannot have children by means of sexual intercourse find other ways to become parents. I would explain that some children have a mom and a dad, other children have two dads, some have two moms, and course a child may have one or the other. Additionally, she would be made aware of alternatives for those unable to have children. This would then conclude with the discussion of practicing safe sex. Therefore, she would understand the use of condoms, forms of birth control and other precautions. Unfortunately, this child might not be as open to discussing what they may be curious about. I can’t imagine my son wanting to dive into detail regarding his erections. Nevertheless, the anatomy discussion would be very similar, as I would go through an anatomical description of both sexes for either discussion. Both versions of puberty and discussion regarding the practice of safe sex would also be included. With the delivery of anatomy and physiology regarding both sexes, one could be hopeful to eliminate such overstated differences.
