Who would have thought to use Social Media along with Photography to be major tools of an awareness campaign? The image above is example of what is “Project Unbreakable”. This particular picture talks about epidemic Child Sexual Abuse. Project Unbreakable lies within a sub genre of awareness campaigns. In this particular analysis I am going to argue that “Project Unbreakable” is able to increase awareness about Child Sexual Abuse through social media and photography, and is successful in making us realize the pain of survivors through color of posters and text and words. She knows that not many people have time to support the big rallies about these sensational topics. She knows not that much campaign uses social media as their major stage. Grace Brown’s Project Unbreakable showed how social media can help to reach as much audience as possible without being on the news or doing any sort of violent activity. By using simple looking photographs as means of communication Project Unbreakable is able to aware more people about Child Sexual Abuse. Then comes the bolded word “Family”. This words reminds the reader about his/her childhood how they use to play game of family with some friends or family members. By referring to word “Family” survivors and Project Unbreakable are appealing us through our emotions. While word “Wife” gets our logic. They are trying to tell us merely with words the pain this person felt. First, we feel happy as we read play, then family connects our emotions to this sentence and the wife all of sudden our feeling of fun changes into feeling of uncertainty. Then we get to the sentence “I was Six!” That Six and exclamation point succeeds in giving us a jolt. All of sudden we realize this was not a normal game of family that usually little children play, but it was something very serious. Thus this sentence starts appealing us through our emotions then goes towards our logic and at last appeals us by emotions.
This is what Project Unbreakable does. They don’t give a speech about these sensational topics; they just put a simple looking photo with some text on it. That simple looking photo and text hurts and appeals to our emotions more than a speech or even a photo of a little child. Project Unbreakable never takes help of a child’s face; instead directly hit us with reality.
