Child Safety Observation

On 06/17/2016 at approximately 2:30 PM I, A. Koval an Investigator for the Department of Child Safety went to the home of [] located at [] to assist in the removal of [] due to [] with DCS Investigator C. Cruz. Upon entering the home, I meet with [] who is the mother of the children. I asked [] where her children were in the apartment and she pointed to a backroom. I entered the room and located three young children later identified as [], [], and []. I observed the room and saw two small beds with one located on top of a bunkbed and another bed located on the side of the bunkbed. The bottom rack of the bunkbed was empty. The children in the room were watching a children’s movie and immediately began to speak to me. [] the oldest child told me without being asked that their biological father was a “bad person” who did “a lot of bad thing”. I asked when the last time he had seen his biological father and he did not know. I asked him what “bad things” his biological father does and he replied that he smokes cigarettes. I asked if there was anything else his biological father did that was bad and he said no but that his biological father is a “bad person”. I asked [] if he had seen his father do the “bad things” and he said yes. However, when I again asked when [] had seen his father he did not know. [] went on to say that his mother [] saw his biological father at work …show more content…
Without being asked, [] stated that a life jacket at the pool had hit him causing the mark. [] then went on to talk about his step-father [] again without being asked. [] stated that his step-father was a claim person. [] then asked if he could tell me something and when I answered yes he lowered his voice and stated to me that his step-father sometimes gets really mad and does things that makes him sad. At that time [] quickly changed the topic before I could inquire about what his step-father would
