When it comes to parenting, this position is the ultimate long-term investment. It entails the most challenges, risk, and rewards depending on one’s technique and thus child recollection. Think of it as the process of promoting and supporting all required elements of one’s development, from infancy to adulthood. Internal elements consist of teaching, molding, guiding, loving, and caring for your children. External elements are shelter, food, and clothing. The purpose of this paper is to find which child rearing method is ultimately the most beneficial when fostering one’s growth. Authoritarians approach is about setting limits, reasoning with kids, and being responsive to their emotional needs. Parents who practice this fashion set fewer rules but are better at enforcing them than parents who are permissive. Consider authoritative parenting a combination of love and limits. These parents believe that boundaries are important, but are careful not to back themselves into a corner over things that don’t matter. They are unlikely to hit the roof over minor issues, yet they will be very firm over things like curfews or homework. Such parents take the time to explain why the rules they set are important and are prepared to listen to an opposing view. Their children know they are accepted and loved; they often hear the parent say, “I love you” or “Well done”. An authoritative parent can be trusted and likely to be respected and obeyed.
