Child Psychological Theories: Nature Vs. Nurture

In child psychology theorist try to figure out psychological qualities that children and infants may have. They attempt to figure out why children act the way they do and how did they get that way. Some think they were born that way while some think the environment had more to do with how the child may grow up. They call this nature vs nurture a very old debate that has been around for decades. Nature is the genes and the physical appearance that is possessed and nurture is refers to the environmental things that impact who we will become of what we are. Our nature is most likely what we may look like; like our hair color, eye color, diseases and anything that is biological basically the phenotype. Literature review There were different studies that were done over time that was trying to figure out which one is more important than the other. On one side people and theorist believe a person was born a certain way that it is in their genes and on the other is if the environment has a major thing to do with it. There were a couple of studies that were done on twins who were separated at birth. One was twins Jim Lewis and Jim Springer. (Tanya Lewis, Staff Writer, 2014). They are identical twins that was raised by two different families at are four. They did not meet until they were thirty-nine but even though they were separated for so long they had some things in common. They both have headaches, prone to nail biting they drove the same type of car and even went on vacation at the same time. These similarities they have in common is the nature their genes. Even though they been away from each other for a long time their genes were still the same. They say genes determines if a person is gay or straight or if they have problems going on with them. This was an interesting study not like most they both have the same first name but different last names. The families
