Safeguarding is more positive and pro-active, concentrating on promotion and protection of welfare and wellbeing. Safeguarding is about improving life chances and outcomes for ALL children.
Child protection is more reactive, referring to policies and procedures which should be followed when we suspect harm or abuse. Child protection is usually limited to those children who may be at risk of harm or abuse.
By having good solid safeguarding policies and procedures we hope to improve the lives of children in our care. By always striving for best practice in our roles, we hope to reduce the risk of harm to children
