Some ground their kids, some take away privileges, the television, phones and ipads, some verbally abuse their children, and some still physically abuse children. Stated in the previous paragraph, parenting starts in the crib, and if one waits too long, they will end up with a poorly behaved child. Out of all the different ways to discipline a child, there is one technique that seems to stand out over all the rest. Which is to be non-violent, and be very consistent (Myers, John). This form of violence toward others could be verbal or physical, it all depends on how the child copes with the violence that comes from their parents. “Studies done by numerous universities show that children who were abused during their childhood are up to 40 percent more likely to grow up to be criminals” (Child Abuse and Neglect….). Children who are abused are also less likely to be a married man or woman in their lifetime. As well as being more likely to abuse their children if they have them. (Child Abuse and Neglect….). “There are many other effects that children undergo that are exposed to abusive parents. Such as: depression, attempts to run away, inappropriate sexual behavior, low self-confidence, headaches and stomach aches without any medical cause, school failures, abnormal fears,” (What to Know About…) and the list goes on and
