The author wants to show that bullying could cause someone to do harm to themselves and take their life away. Dani was going to kill himself because people were bullying him. In the text, it says, “You look like one dead dog. I mean you look like your nothing,” This shows that the bullies don’t care about Dani’s feelings. They also just want him to feel like he’s nothing and worthless. Another thing the bullies say, “Yeah finish it off. Do something useful. Go kill yourself.” Not only is this rude, it is telling a person to end there life. They are telling Dani that he is worthless. Everyone deserves their life. No one needs to tell them they don’t deserve or need their life anymore. Bullying has a big impact on a person, don’t be a bully even if it's as a joke it could really hurt someone and they could end up taking their life away which was what Danny was trying to …show more content…
Danny was the victim of bullying he wanted to commit suicide but at the same time, he didn’t want to so he decided to let an object a box choose whether or not to kill himself. Even though he didn’t kill himself he will still remember all of those rude comments. If I was Aui and I heard that my cousin was getting bullied and was trying to kill himself I would convince him not to and take the gun away and I would call my parent and his parents and so far I thought the story was a really good

In the non-fiction poem, Shane Koyczan talks about many people who were bullied as kids and how bad bullying is. In Shane Koyczan’s poem, there is a lot of symbolism. One symbol that sticks out to me is the halls of the school representing the battle ground for them. The kids in the classroom where “bombarded by spit balls” but when they would leave they would enter the “battleground where we found ourselves outnumbered day after wretched day” (Koyczan 3) The symbol of the halls being a battleground is so true for these kids because day after day after day they are getting bullied to the extent where they have to fight to avoid mental or physical pain.…

As we become more knowledgeable on the subject of bullying, we can notice how the effects it has on both the victim and the bully can be dangerous. In his article, “Bullying”, John Greenya suggests that the connection between bullying and school violence has become a growing problem that schools aren't doing enough to prevent. He does this by first explaining that “today, bullying is widely regarded as a serious problem in the United States”, then by stating “bullying not only begets depression and suicide but also serious crime, researchers say, not to mention poor academic performance, truancy and higher dropout rates” (Greenya). Greenya finally describes how “in the past, bullying has simply been dismissed as ‘Kids will be kids,’ but the findings from this study suggest that…
