Child Observation Report

I am attaching two photos of Skyler Yang who has endure scratches on both sides of his face; one scratch is right below his right eye and the other is nearby his nose on the left side of his face. He received these scratches after he had spent the day with his mother.

Specifically with this email, I want to address my concerns regarding my children's safety. Although these injuries may seem minor, I am concern that it could have resulted in more seriousness if the scratch would have made contact with his eye that could have led to infections or even lead to sight issues. As from what Skyler told me, he was scratched by Xylina's pet dog when he was walking the dog on a leash; apparently, the dog jumped up and scratched him. This is not the first instance that my children have told me about the dog either scratching them or even biting their fingers as well. I am not against the children being around pets, especially as they do enjoy playing with animals. However, I do not want to jeopardize my children's safety as they are still young and can be vulnerable in sustaining injuries from a dog that is larger in size and strength compared to them. It is alarming to me that Xylina would allow the kids to handle a full size dog,

I was very disappointed in the delay of her response and by the way in which she replied by just telling me to ask Skyler because he was playing with the dog. As a concerned parent, I was not impressed nor happy that she did not even bother to tell me of the incident when it occurred or even when she dropped the kids back at my home. I find it very irresponsible that she had waited until I noticed these scratches to where I had to personally ask her, yet received a response that only tried to minimize the concerns of mine by blaming Skyler for what had happen instead of actually explaining the

According to the case of Christie v. Dobbyn2, it is not essential for the plaintiff to prove that the defendant knew if the dog is of a vicious or mischievous nature. Plaintiff Uniqua does not have to prove if Bob’s dog was harmful by nature or had bitten any other person in the past. By looking at the Donahue v. Belitski case, plaintiff went to the defendant property and was bitten by the dog and in this case, defendant was responsible for the damages in doctrine of scienter and negligence. Infact, in to Christie v. Dobbyn2 case, plaintiff entered defendant’s house with her 9 year old daughter.…

Notwithstanding the fact that there was no physical contact, the owner is liable for damages to Hinman (Hinman 509). Hinman’s safety was put in jeopardy; and as a result, he injured himself in the process of protecting his body from the canine (Hinman 510). The dog was the “direct and immediate” cause of Hinman’s injury (Hinman 509). Due to the immediate connection, there was no “attenuated chain of causation” (Hinman 509). This reasoning is enforced by the direct wording of the Statute, which states, “the statute applies to the hostile or nonhostile actions of a dog which cause injury, regardless of actual physical contact with the injured party (Hinman 511).”…

Strict liability holds owners responsible for their actions of their pets, even if the upmost care is taken to protect others from injury or harm. There are good arguments made on both sides of the aisle regarding whether owners of domestic animals should be held strictly liable for injuries their pets cause to others. Many states have statutes in place that protect owners from strict liability claims unless they knew in advance that the animal had a dangerous propensity. Owners of wild animals, on the other hand, are always held strictly liable. This is because it is in the very nature of these animals to be dangerous to human beings, to attack for seemingly no reason at all, and to have an inability to live in harmony amongst…

There are four key steps to follow to help you to identify and respond appropriately to possible abuse and/or neglect. It may not always be appropriate to go through all four stages sequentially. If a child is in immediate danger or is at risk of harm, you should refer to children’s social care and/or the police. Before doing so, you should try to establish the basic facts. However, it will be the role of social workers and the police to investigate cases and make a judgement on whether there should be a statutory intervention and/or a criminal investigation.…

I completed my infant observation at the University Child Development Center. The University Child Development Center specializes in childcare for infants all the way up to children age 12. The infant I observed was about eight months of age and was placed in a classroom that usually has a relatively small number of infants for better one on one attention. As I completed my observation, I observed all five developmental domains which include physical, emotional and social, cognitive, adaptive, and language and communication.…
