What is child obesity exactly? As defined by the Oxford Dictionary, a child is a young human being below the age of puberty or below the legal age of majority. The Oxford Dictionary defines obese as grossly fat or overweight. This disease is the product of a child overeating and not exercising enough. Child obesity can cause severe medical problems with short-term and long-term effects. Medical conditions include heart disease, type II diabetes, asthma, and sleep apnea. Some children don’t need to lose any weight at all because they can grow into their body but instead they need to gain weight at a slower pace.
