In the article Child Neglect by Dan Tudoran and Angela Boglut they say that neglect or abuse can occur in episodes or can be chronic, with the first being less severe (Tudoran & Boglut, 2015). Personally I feel that abuse and neglect occurring in episodes is not necessarily less severe. It can be just as traumatic, if not more for a child. I say this because for a child to experience abuse in episodes it would possibly be much more shocking than for a child who lives in an abusive or neglectful environment because the second child would be more accustomed to the situation, depending on how long they’ve lived in that type of
