Using inquiriy based learning helps students establish concepts and facts, learning this process will benefit students while establishing them to be good researchers with a strong understanding while promoting integration and internalization these benefits will help students who use inquiry based learning in their schooling, work field, and personal life ( Justice, Rice, Roy, Hudspith, & Jenkins, 2009). To start the inquiry based learning process, the learner will brain storm certain topic that appeal to them, the main thing to consider when deciding on the main topic is how easy and or difficult it will be to answer and find research for the chosen topic. Once a main question is decided the learner will decide on sub-questions that can be answered which will help answer the main question. In order to choose good sub-questions they should be open ended questions which will need critical thinking and reseaerch. During the inquiry based learning (IBL) process the learner may change their main questions or sub-questions many times or not at all, this depends on how much research has been done to support the main question or the sub-questions. I used key words in order to find articles that would help me answer my main question and my sub-questions. The articles I found were interesting and taught me a lot on child maltreatment as a whole, many of the articles I read explained the long lasting effects child abuse can have which opened up my eyes on how serious of a problem it really is in todays
