Conditions that may be safe and healthy for adults may not be safe for children due to the clear physical differences. Children are very delicate and fragile, as their bones, tissues, and brain are undergoing large transitions during the adolescent stage of their lifespan. Child labour is defined not by the activities performed by the child, but by the consequences of such activities. Therefore, I’m sure we can all agree that all work that affects a child’s health and schooling in a negative way, should be eliminated immediately. Most child labourers begin working at a very young age, are malnourished, and are subject to long, painful hours, in unsuitable occupations. These dangerous and unhealthy conditions- agriculture being the most popular can result in disabilities, serious illnesses, or even death.
