People need to meet their everyday needs. So children work in order to meet their needs if not they would starve to death. Businesses like Gap come to India to take advantage of their economic conditions. They use children for work because it is cheaper labour and they take advantage of these children. They make this children work for hours and pay them peanut as money at the end of the day. Children are ought to be in school learning but because they can’t afford the school fees they work full time to fend for themselves. Some of this children work in dangerous areas like mines. “it continues to harm the physical and mental development of children and adolescents and interfere with their education” (UNICEF) . Harmful effects of child labor: * It can cause death in extreme cases * It causes pain towards the child involved. * It deprives the child of lots of things. I.e. childhood, education. * It makes children fall sick.
