Another big cause of child labor, it increases the risks and consequences of work-related hazards and leading to permanent disabilities and premature death. Also, low-income youth are more likely to work in high- risk (Michael). Other reason includes educational problems, like distance from school, poor quality of education, over-crowding, inability to support schooling (food, uniforms, exercise books, school fees, etc.) family disintegration due to divorce; various conflicts, war and civil strife; drought and resettlement; orphan hood due to AIDS; and rapid urbanization (Causes). I can relate to this matter, because during my high school year I meant a friend who came from Mexico, she told me that there are many children who work because they cannot afford to get the needs such as food and shelter, and lack of family support, because some parent gives away their children in order to feed themselves, and get what they need. It was very heart breaking when she told me that she has seen with her own eyes and that there are no actions to be taken. Many of the government organization and international financial institutions like banks are contributing to help support child labor issues especially poverty. Government organizations and industries should act on social responsible matter and put end to child labor or provide children with better working conditions. Also, government can take action to cut down poverty by providing high quality child care and early education, and also giving jobs to adult so that children don’t have to work for hours. Education is need for every child and they should learn how to read and write, it provides them with knowledge and professional skills that only school and a nurturing environment can provide. Children are the future of every country, therefore education is needed to help develop the country. For many children who have no transportation, school should be built within the walking distance, so that it’s easy for these children to get the education they need. Furthermore, education must be free and compulsory up until the minimum legal age for employment. Child labor can decrease if laws were created to help fight against child labor.
