Hunger in America is a great problem but it can be prevented and eradicated as long as the nation has the will and determination to make it happen both on a national scale. In America alone, statistics prove that one in every six individuals face hunger on a regular basis. Although there is an astonishing amount of people who face hunger, this is not because there is an insufficient supply of food available in the country, but it is because many individuals are living in poverty or below the poverty line. Rosie, a young fifth grader living in Colorado, is one of millions of children who face hunger as a result of poverty. Rosie is dependent on neighbors and friends, food stamps, numerous charities and organization and relies on any other resources that can aid her in obtaining a sufficient amount of food.…

The first thing we did at Feed my Starving Children was to watch a video about all of the starving children in the locations that we would be helping. I think that seeing them and seeing how bad and famined they looked really showed us the truth. We often only think about the people in our own country or the people that we see every day. When we are eating lunch or going out to dinner we do not think about the hungry people in other countries. After that we split up into groups that represented different countries that we would be feeding.…

Hunger in almost all nations, including the Unites States of America, is caused by poverty or a host of things that interact with poverty. These causes can be, but are not limited to discrimination, lack of power, corruption of government officials, war, environmental overload, and scarcity of resources. Unfortunately for most of the world, discrimination still exists and can cause biases when handing out food aid. In America’s case, lack of power and corruption of government officials are not a problem anymore, but environmental overload and scarce resources are still problems today (Hauptmann, Cole). As Americans, building houses on farmland for our expanding population and using more water than necessary.…

Feed my starving children is a non-profit organization that packages food to send to malnourished children in several countries. These sustainable meals are made specifically to pack as many nutrients as possible to help nourish and strengthen the children so they can be healthy and conquer their fight against starvation. When most people think about global hunger they think of a lack of production of food in developing countries, however, it’s more than that. Global hunger encompasses not only food production and security, but also distribution and access. Feed my starving children distributes their packed food to about 70 countries which gives children in these countries access to food that otherwise would not be there.…

As the president of my class, I would work hard to provide everyone at my school with better hot-lunch, food you can buy during the lunch period that is delivered to the school. Many people I have spoken with scorn the boxed nutrition. An avid hot-lunch goer, Eric Needleman is morose, and he always complains to me that his chicken fingers are too flaky. Two of my other friends, Cliff Mueller and Luke Gilbert, would also appreciate this act because they think the food is too dry. Another issue I would notably tackle is the situation with the bathrooms typically being out of paper towels, paper sheets used to wipe your hands after you wash them.…

If world hunger was no longer an issue, to throw back to my previous example, imagine what the money used for those commercials and programs as well as the money collected by them could be used for. Infrastructural development and technological advancement would be possible at a rate unheard of in our current struggling history. Much of the reasoning behind a number of wars would become obsolete as nations no longer struggled to keep their populations alive and well. Individual relations would become easier, as stresses ingrained into our very makeup would lose most if not all of their strength over our mental and emotional wellbeing. Birthrates and death rates would settle globally, as struggles for survival would eventually end and trials to live well would develop.…
