So much of determination is something inside of us. I believe that every child has the ability to be determined and achieve goals that they themselves set. I will show kids that they too can be determined and succeed regardless of circumstance. In my professional life, I will strive to provide the best care for the children I work with. I will work extra hours and make sure that their issues are dealt with in a prompt manner. My determination will make it so that the kids that need help will get the best care that I as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner can provide. My value also makes me not apathetic in my reaction to these kid’s problems. Families will benefit from my determined nature because they will be able to trust that I am doing my best to provide their child with the highest standard of care I am capable of. Through my determined nature I will make sure that doctors and the other groups of practitioners on a healthcare team understand the children I work with as people and not a case file. I believe in the value of hard work and I will inspire my co workers to match my commitment to my work. I hold myself to a high standard because I am determined to succeed in my career in Child and Youth. In …show more content…

If people cannot access a basic need of health care we seriously need to look at our own priorities as a society. Dorothea was instrumental in reforming the treatment of patients in mental health care. Dix lobbied the Massachusetts Government by speaking in her famous Memorial to the Legislature of Massachusetts. Her desire was the mental health care should be reformed as she came “as the advocate for the helpless” Dix (1843). This proves her empathetic nature for those who cannot speak for themselves. I agree with her sentiment and believe that helping those who are mentally ill is a vital aim for my career goals as a practitioner. I want to be able to provide and advocate for people who
