Anyone can judge child beauty pageants as long as they meet the criteria for that competition and anyone can sit in the audience and enjoy the show. Some are asked to judge on the grounds of their background information on pageants and experience. You never know who is really looking at your child in the audience and what their intentions are, but one thing to keep in mind is that child beauty pageants do attract servers and pedophiles. Child beauty pageants are like a grocery store, where people can choose which child they want to take advantage of. They need to positive that the competition will have a positive impact on them. When participants are young, they have to act like adults and lose innocence only young children possess. They have to wear exposing costumes, learn sexualized dance routines and adorn their hair and makeup a certain way to have an air of adulthood upon them. There is a lot of focus put onto beauty which can lead to mental health problems later on in life. As these girls grow-up, their obsession with their physical appearance dampers their self-esteem, making them feel as if they are not enough. It is of utmost importance that children keep their innocence and act their age which is unavoidable when child participate in child beauty
