In order make this goal a reality we started a powerful yet caring program to offer to our adolescent clients. Our program addresses emotional issues such as anger management, guilt, feelings of vulnerability, low self-esteem, and other emotional issues that may be bothering the child. Secondly a boundaries class is implemented into the child's curriculum. This class will teach the adolescent how to set up proper boundaries in relationships. When a child been sexually abused they may put up barriers to protect themselves from another attack. These walls can do more harm to the child than good. The child will live a lonely life of mistrust and will have difficulty interacting with other people. Project CARE wants to help the child to move forward in their life and be able to set up positive relationships with others. Our program consists of individual, small, large, and family counseling sessions. We plan to have 175 kids during an intense six month session. Upon completing the program, follow up sessions are conducted once every three months. If a child need more than six month they can receive additional therapy. Each person's healing process is different depending on the level of trauma they received. To better aid the child to recover, we will collaborate with their school counselor. If physical injury resulted from their sexual abuse Project CARE will arrange health services to treat them.
