Child Abuse Case

After carefully examining the case, I believe that Emily should be removed from the family. Child abuse is defined as any physical or emotional trauma to a child for what you know reasonable exclamation can be found. Emily's parents are definitely neglecting her. They are giving her a lack of food, they are beating her, and they're lacking the gift love. All the pieces of evidence that help support this. Emily was malnutritioned, abused, and her parents thought it was okay. The parent's excuse was it was for religious reasons. When I went to meet with the parents, they said that my ways were leading kids to drugs. Emily went to the nurse at school, where the nurse found bruising. It is never okay for parents to abuse their children. Section …show more content…
I do not believe that Emily should be allowed back in the house and family until they go through the classes and counseling. I believe that Emily should only be involved for a small amount of the counseling, and it should be mostly focused on her parents. I also believe Emily should not be part of the family due to the fact that an additional 9% of maltreated children are subject to sexual abuse. I would really find it unfortunate of Emily's case got to that point. We are also protected under Troxel vs Granville in 2000 where the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution protects the government to intervene. We can intervene with the parent's rights to make decisions concerning the care of their children. I do not believe that Emily's parents are making the correct decision for her health. It is also proven that being abuse increases the likelihood of a restaurant for a juvenile, as an adult, and even for a violent crime. They can up the likelihood of being arrested as a juvenile by 59%. I would also find it unfortunate if Emily got convicted because we did not intervene. There's also proven that children for abuse our younger when they are rested for the first time. Is could you start young, their crimes can …show more content…
This can really unify this family and Emily. I am not one to tear apart a family. I do believe that this needs to be addressed. I just believe we need to be careful on the way we do it. After the parents are in the classes and partake in counseling, we bring in the homebuilders. With all of this, I can believe that Emily will be safe and the parents can be happy knowing that there are other things I can do to punish a child. I believe that they will realize that other punishment methods will not lead Emily to drugs, sex, and other teenage

Another famous preschool abuse case is Fort Bragg preschool, also in California. Similar accusations were made in this case as with the McMartin case, but on top of all of the McMartin accusations, teachers and staff members were also accused of having children being buried in coffins, being tortured with water, being forced to perform mock marriages with other students as well as the devil, having medical operations where the teacher would “take out” the children's hearts and place something else inside the body usually something with a negative or satanic connotation, and being hung upside down or tied up over a “star” or pentagram, the symbol of satanists. Also similar to the McMartin case, people believed all of these accusations were fake or make believe; however, proving this case was slightly different than proving the McMartin trial.…

Weeping in the Playtime of Others In reading Weeping in the Playtime of Others: America’s Incarcerated Children by Kenneth Wooden, I learned about the devastating, heartbreaking truths about how corrupt our juvenile legal system is. I knew there was probably some violence within the facilities, but I didn’t realize the extent of the torture and physical abuse the youth experienced within in the juvenile correctional facilities across America. I was shocked by the amount of youth that weren’t actually what we would consider criminals. These children were incarcerated because they were emotionally disturbed, mentally handicapped or because they ran away from home to escape a bad situation.…
