Reason Case was accepted for Investigation:
On 5/18/17, Hennepin County Child Protection accepted a report of alleged neglect – inadequate attention to the educational needs of Sophia St Pierre and Rohnan St Pierre by parents Tiana Raphael St Pierre. Per reporter Sophia has missed 6 full unexcused days at school and Rohnan has missed 15 full unexcused days at school. Per reporter a principal letter was sent home on 10/31/16 and several letters, phone calls and in person meetings with Ms. St Pierre were done.
Outcome of Assessment:
This worker met with Ms. Tiana at Eden Prairie office on 5/23/17. Ms. Tiana appeared upset about the allegation. This worker explained the reason CP got involved and explained about the allegation. Ms. Tiana stated that she remembers her children getting sick few times with a cold and strep throat. Also, she reported that her son was sick with mono and he stayed home afterward. Raphael at Eden Prairie office to discuss about the allegation. He reported that he works full time and drives truck during the weekdays. He reported that he comes home during weekend or Monday’s. He disagreed about the school allegation and stated that his children has been attending school regularly. He reported that his wife takes them to school every day. He reported that he is aware that they are late to school at times due to Sophia taking little longer to get ready. He reported that she is a girl and they are helping her to stay on time during the school year. He reported that the school is wrong and their report is wrong. He reported that his children were maybe late but not absent from school. Also, he reported that his son Rohnan was sick with Mono and strep throat.
