I remember opening my eyes and seeing a warm glow come through the thing I was sitting in. It was nice and warm I could feel heat coming in through the casing I was enclosed in. I was comfortable yet I wanted to leave, a strong urge to break out of my containment overtook me. I didn't want to, but I found myself pecking out of the shell I thrust my head through the hole I made. I was in a large area full of giant fleshy things looking down at me. I tried to stand up but kept slipping and my wings were stuck to my body with a sticky goop I struggled and managed to stand up. So it finally snowed! I’m happy that it finally did and I built a snowman during the storm and it looks kind of…squared you could say. Since the snow is heavy, more of the leaves are now fallen off and it’s starting to look like winter. Today I went to my grandparents’ house to spend the few nights until thanksgiving. While driving out there, the corn fields and the bean fields were all covered with snow, you could tell that the deer were out and about since you could clearly see the footprints in the snow.…

The door was only able to be locked from the inside, and the house wasn’t vandalized at all.…

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, we're all accustomed to a certain standard, or stereotype that needs to be played. Whether it's being captain of the cheerleading team or the smartest kid in your class, it's one way or another that's there's going to be someone who's supposed to follow by these stereotypes or standards just for the sole fact that that's them. The Sunday after Thanksgiving, I rather spontaneously---or perhaps, I’d like to think, by the work of the Holy Spirit---got on a night bus and went to church. I arrived at St. Mark’s Cathedral to a contemplative Eucharist in their beautiful chapel. It was soft and lovely and quiet. I love the quiet. I sought it out when I came to college in Seattle, living in “the big city” for the first time this fall, more than a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of people everywhere.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. With my One Direction CD clutched in my hands, I started to close the distance by walking towards his car. I opened the door and slipped in, and then he started to drive to the grocery store. At the time I was under the illusion that my dad would be even slightly happy to see me, but no.…
