Chick-Fil-A: Overcoming Obstacles In My Life

Most of the time, I identify myself as an average teenage girl. A girl that is not the best at driving and likes to eat a lot of Chick-Fil-A. But then I remind myself that I am not average; I am anything but average. I have already overcome major obstacles in my life that other students my age probably have never even thought about. Being a child of a recovering alcoholic and a victim of foreclosure, I have a different outlook on the world. I see the different opportunities I am given every day to make the right choice that will lead me to the path of success. I have a twin sister that will also be attending college at the same time as me; receiving this scholarship would really benefit my family as my mom is a single parent who is solely responsible for all of the expenses. I am a straight A student who is involved with numerous extracurricular activities such as National Honors Society, Beta Club, Student Council, and Mu Alpha Theta where I serve as the Public Relations Officer. Along with my studies and activities, I have been involved with competitive dance for 15 years and I have a part time job at a clothing boutique. I am an extremely well-rounded student who is self-motivated, so I believe that I will put this scholarship to great use. In the fall of 2017 I plan to attend the University of South Carolina to study finance. I am not positive of the career I want to pursue after I graduate college, but I am positive that my career will be in the field of finance. I want to pursue a financial career because like it or not, our society revolves around finance as we depend on money to thrive. With my career I hope to one day help people feel confident about their financial decisions and also help to educate them on their personal finances in
