Chai-Hui "Do you know the feeling of when your heart shatters in pieces?" Her voice was croaky and brittle as the tears crowded in her bloodshot eyes. The scene just turned to be a movie, played over and over again in my head. And, it will never be erased. I have been raised by my mother since my parents divorced when I was eight years old. My mother has always been the person who works hard to support the family; so she did not have much time to take care of me. Perhaps because of the lack of familial attention I became an extremely sensitive and capricious person. Chia-Hui was my best friend. She had a habit of writing diaries. She would write down everything that she did not want to say in person. I did not know how to respond. I stared at the words she wrote about me, and my mind went completely blank. Her face was cold, and something---I believe---had just gone wrong. I could not understand why she did this to me at that time. All I felt was just betrayal. "Am I a bully?" I kept asking myself afterwards. My mother told me to learn to see things in other people's perspective. I looked back upon the time that made me look like a jerk, and the feeling of guilt just spilled all over me. But, it was also my compass that guided me to become a better person. I started to realize how much verbal violence could injure a person. I spent a year to refreshing myself, and realized such attitudes were the product of my woeful ignorance. I learned how to speak to friends properly and to learn how to comprehend the feelings of others which caused me to be a more mature person.
