BENEFITS OF CHEWING GUM you will be surprised if I were to tell you that chewing gum is not a modern thing. It has been around for over three thousand years. Everyone from Neolithic times to the ancient Greek used to chew gum in some form. The earliest gum was made of latex, and then it shifted to bark of birch tree, then different gums from various plants and grasses and finally the more modern version of flavored sweetened gum. From the ancient times gum was used to treat dental illness, as it was found to be antiseptic, to improve bad breath. So today we will look through some benefits of chewing gum.

Many students were observed during their examination and it was found that those chewing on gum were not only more alert but were also more relaxed. So when you need to feel relaxed and remove that stress from your mind it might benefit you to chew on that gum.

MAY HELP IN WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
Do you cravings that you cannot control? Do you chew on unhealthy snacks while watching TV? Well if you do then chewing gum can help you. Whenever we go for unhealthy snacking we tend to gain weight. Chewing gum can help you not directly but covertly. Whenever crave for a snack pop a gum into your mouth. It has far less calories than other snacks and hence will not add pounds and calories and ruin your diet.

IT CAN AID IN DIGESTION
If you chew on gum after meals it will be very helpful. When you chew gum the flow of saliva also increases and so does the act of swallowing. Saliva helps to ease the acid that is formed in your stomach and will prevent heart burn. If you suffer from acid reflux it will benefit you to chew gum for at least 20 minutes after your meals. However you need to be careful that your gum is not peppermint
