Chevrolet was introduced by William C.durant and louis chevrolet. By 1980 they were selling around 50,000 horse-drawn vehicles. They started shared the company with the Durant-Dort Carriage Company. In 1909 William Durant asked Louis Chevrolet a famous race car driver to help design and promote a new car.They sold the car for over $2000.
