In the video, a young man sits in the front of an old style gas station. His young wife walks up to him with their young child and asks him if he is ok, and if the truck is ok too. At the same time a mechanic walks out from behind the building and delivers the bad news to this young man about his truck. He tells him that the truck repair will cost more than buying a new truck. It is obvious that only owner of the Chevy truck would understand this strong attachment displayed by this ad and the action this young man took. However, even resistance and neutral audience can find this ad appealing to them due to its strong messages. It is evident from the comments written under this u-tube video. Some viewers wrote that this ad is very touching. Although they are owners of different brand of a truck, they all understood the depth of the truck ownership this ad displayed. I am not a fan of any trucks including Chevy trucks. I never owned a truck and I don’t have any interest in buying one. I would be considered a resistance audience to this ad. However, I also found this ad very smart and persuasive. The ad got my attention, which is usually the ultimate goal of a properly designed persuasive advertisement. Because of its simplicity anyone can relay to it on many different levels. Anyone who values a long-term vehicle ownership and family history can relate to this
