Chet Haze, the white rapper son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, has been in the news lately for defending his constant use of the “N” word. Haze says that it is just part of the hip hop culture and that it's time for people to get over it.
Lisa Leslie, three-time WNBA MVP and a four-time Olympic gold medal winner, doesn't think so. She notes that his stance will certainly gain him some publicity, a view that more and more people are starting to take – that Haze is doing all of this to get his name out there prior to the release of his new album. But, Leslie cautions, the publicity is mostly negative and will have its repercussions.
