Basketball is one of the most exciting sports in the world. In 1891, a man named Dr. James Naismith created basketball for his P.E. students. The game started with two peach baskets hanging ten feet high on opposite sides of the court. Players had to try and put the ball in the basket. Now, basketball is a multi-billion dollar business that is also played on the playground by kids. Playing basketball requires the player to learn a few basic passes. There are three ways to pass a basketball; a bounce pass, a chest pass, and an overhead pass. By following a few simple steps, the player can have an outstanding bounce pass. First, grab an orange Spalding basketball and a friend with whom to practice. Next, step seven to ten feet away away from the friend with basketball in player's hand. Then, aim two feet in front of the friend so the ball will bounce into his chest. After that, step forward, lean forward, and draw power from legs. Also, bend legs and step with one foot in front of the other. Lastly, push the ball toward the target and flick wrists. Feel the effort and point thumbs down. After the pass, drink Gatorade if the player is tired and sweaty. Following these steps will lead to a perfect bounce pass and now the player can learn a chest pass. …show more content…

In most cases the rebound will go too far away from the goalie for her to be able to jump on it. So in this case, the goalie needs to get up as fast as she can, get on her toes, and slowly break down the angle towards the ball. If an opposing player is coming towards the ball, you want to get as close as you can to her so she has less of a goal to shoot at. When the shooter goes to shoot, her head will go down towards the ball, and this is when you pounce onto the ball or in front of the…
