Cheryl Tiegs has really upset a lot of people with her comments about Ashley Graham getting to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated. There has been a lot of talk about if Cheryl issued an apology or not and now Cheryl has officially apologized to Ashley for her comments, but it could just be a little too late. E! Online shared the details of what happened and Cheryl Tiegs apology. Just last week Cheryl revealed that she wasn't happy that the new Sports Illustrated had a "full-figured" woman on the cover. Cheryl even said that a woman should have a waist that is smaller than 35 inches.

It is unknown if Tiegs has reached out to Graham, but she did go to Huffington Post today and post an actual apology to Ashley. Tiegs says that this has turned into a "manufactured media feud" and then went on to apologize to Ashley.

"I was not equating beauty to weight or size, but unfortunately that is what the media reported in headlines. I was trying to express my concern over media images and the lack of education in America about healthy choices, thus the reference to the 35-inch waist as a guideline to health. I did hear that on Dr. Oz, but it's also stated on websites such as The Center For Disease Control, Harvard University and The American Diabetes Association."

After that Cheryl Tiegs even went on to reveal that her waist is 37 inches and not under 35 inches either. Cheryl even went on basically begging Ashley to accept her big apology.

"Please accept my deepest apology if you were offended or in any way think I was referring to you. I commend you on the positive influence you have on helping women to love

I agree with Renee Engeln’s article when discussing the problem with how people negatively talk about themselves. The first topic Renee Engeln talks about is how often people express how large or in this case fat they feel. She writes about why should that matter? Why do we have the urge to tell people how we feel about ourselves and throw it out there in the open?…

In a NY Times article, “Is Fat Stigma Making Us Miserable?”, Emilie Lucchesi talks about the causes of psychological health problems arising not necessarily from the physical characteristic but from the overbearing stigmatization of being overweight in our society. Contrary to popular belief, there exists almost no direct relationship between how much a person weighs and their psychological health welfare; the problem lies, instead, within how people are being treated. She explains that it’s rather “the teasing, judgment and unsolicited advice directed at overweight people that can cause the greatest psychological harm.” The article goes on to introduce Courtney Bailey, a media scholar in popular culture, as she explains that the fat stigma…

The Fat Embracement Movement was produced as a response to the traditional media advertisements featuring young, skinny and fit individuals. The Fat Embracement Movement, in all reality, is for overweight individuals to feel comfortable about themselves; however, it leads others to become satisfied with their own overweight bodies, and makes those overweight individuals feel like they don’t need to change their lifestyles to healthier options. A prime example of an endorser for the Fat Acceptance Movement is Tess Holliday, the Size 22 model. She is a pretty individual, but she is also morbidly overweight. Her Instagram page is filled with multiple photos of her posing in lingerie.…

Hilton’s protruding hip bones, scrawny arms, thin legs, and thigh gap, paint the picture of what women, and men alike, found to be the most appealing. However, not everyone is a size 00 like Hilton; in fact, most of us are not.…
