Chef Influence
Anne Burrell is a chef I admire since she is an extremely talented female chef. I believe she has brought a lot to the culinary world due to her fun style. She is one of the top female chefs in the country. I base that opinion on the fact of how prominent she is on the Foodnetwork Channel and other areas of expertise. I enjoy watching her on television as I find her to be an extremely knowledgeable chef.
One of the shows I enjoy watching her is called, “Worst Cook in America.” Another show is, “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” where she shares several tips and tricks on how to make restaurant style dishes in your home. Anne Burrell is able to teach people how to make high quality meals in a positive way. She brings life

What confuses me is why they call the book getting air when he never really goes skateboarding. One question I have is that it is very unlikely that Jimmy and all of his friends were the only ones who survived. I think the chances of that happening is compared to winning the lottery. Another question I have is how did an 80 year old woman survive the crash when all of her other friends died. Also a lot of those women were younger than her.…

Ever wonder who is cooking the food in the kitchens of America’s favorite restaurants? Anthony Bourdain answered this question in his article titled “Who Cooks?” Anthony Bourdain is a chef, writer and has been featured on some reality television shows. He discussed how the line cooks are not who most people think they are; they are not professionals but instead they are non-American men who cannot make it elsewhere according to his experience. Line cooking involves mindless repetition that not anyone can do and those with culinary vision or education are not these line cooks.…

My favorite cooking show on Food Network is Worst Cooks in America with Rachel Ray and Chef Anne Burrell. Which is where contestants come who are horrible cooks and they have family members explain why the person is the worst cook and needs to be on the show also they are being judged on how they are cooking and how they are presenting their food and then if one person wins they get money. One reason why I like Worst Cooks in America is, when the people get there and they are assigned who team they are going to get put on ,either Chef Anne Burrell or Rachel Ray’s team they learn the basics in cooking a meal that is not still uncooked or raw. For an example of how Worst Cooks in America is that they would ask them to cook the food that either…

Both of them have written successful cookbooks, created multiple restaurants, and stared on many television programs throughout their career. Although when it comes to agreeing on the matter of the best representative of Southern cooking, I believe that Paula Deen is a much better fit then Emeril Lagasse. I agree on the fact that Emeril Lagasse is a successful Southern chef, but I believe that he escapes the category of Southern cooking. Emeril has such a wide variety of recipes and restaurants that lack traditional Southern cooking because of his dishes being altered and influenced by other cultures and him placing more emphasis on certain styles of food. I do not view the characteristics of Emeril’s cooking in a bad manner, but instead complement and acknowledge the diversity of his created dishes.…

If there is one category of food that the Southern black chef should excel it would be Southern or soul. However, the gentrification of food is now commonplace and ‘soul food’ is not exempt, “Collard greens were suddenly the “new kale,” according to a Whole Foods marketing ploy last year. Sweet potatoes, once an economical source of rich nutrients, have made their way into cupcakes, pancakes, and even quesadillas. A bevy of food bloggers has “discovered” sweet potato pie” (Taylor, 2015). The Southern food versus ‘soul food’ argument, although essentially irreverent here, can be heated.…

Dave Barry has a humorous tone throughout the passage “Turkeys in the Kitchen.” He uses his humor to mock him and many other men when it comes to being in the kitchen. While doing this, he touches upon a widely known stereotype about men and women. The humor presented makes Barry establish a connection with his readers, both men and women. One thing that adds to this sense of humor is his exaggeration.…

About the Chef Mihoko Jones Executive Chef Growing up, I hadn’t realized that I wanted to be a chef. It took one meal from The French Laundry by Thomas Keller to inspire my passion. I was already an undergraduate student at Skidmore College when I decided to transfer to the Culinary Institute of America, where I completed an externship at Le Cirque under Daniel Boulud. After my graduation from the Culinary Institute, I did what many young chefs do.…
