In Most cases, female cheetahs live alone and scarcely interact with other cheetahs except when they desire to mate or when they are raising cubs. Unlike females, male cheetahs usually live in fixed groups, consisting of 2-4 brothers, called coalitions. Although they aren’t usually united, they all hunt in the same way and manner. After a cheetah locates its prey, it tracks the down within 50 meters for a couple of minutes. The cheetah then dashes at lightning speed and pounces on their prey. They viciously grab them from their neck and strangle them to death. Unfortunately, they don’t keep their lunch for long. Even though they hunt in the middle of the day to avid predators, their food still gets stolen. Groups of vultures and other big cats manage to find a way to swipe their nourishment, even when it’s well hidden. In addition, lions and hyenas capture and eat cheetah cubs, while adults are killed by terrifying leopards. Cheetahs have always suffered from predators since the beginning of their existence. This distress only has led to 5% of cheetah cubs exceeding the age of 8
