Cheetah Descriptive Writing

A gunshot rings in my ears, and the wind roars around me. Panting I don’t look back at the foggy and gloomy sky. Noises, whispers and voices follow me into the wall of dark muddied trees. The cold air pierces my throat as I inhale faster. My heart beats more rapidly with every step I take deeper into the wilderness. I think I have shaken them from my path and they are trailing far behind me in the distance. I hear the voices again, this time they sound like they are right next to me. I run, I run faster than a cheetah chasing its prey. I go deep into the forest, in the distance a tall, ancient house, crumbling at the very touch seems to be illuminated. The moon reflects off the moss clinging onto the wall. Metal bars engulf the castle locking …show more content…
The isolated castle is encircled by tall, scaly towers, while trees with dark black leaves drape over my body. Bushes of red roses with prickly thorns guide the way along the path to the steps. The roses symbolize love and passion, yet the dark red color reminds me of one of the deaths that took place in the pulsing heart of this very castle. I take a deep breath and stop in front of a mysterious, eerie, sealed door. The only way to escape these noises all around is to go inside. The wind begins to howl and lashes onto the old frosted concrete steps. I bash on the metal door, with my frozen weary hands. The door swings open with my persistent knocking, but is followed by utter silence. I slowly step through the doorway with fear in my eyes, and shivers running down my spine. The door slams shut behind me, sealing me in with nowhere to go but …show more content…
Suddenly, mumbling voices can be heard all around me, all around the house. Deeper into the mansion my feet push me forwards while my hands are shaking with fear. Shrieking whispers come from downstairs from pots clanging, and glasses shattering. Step by step the sound grows louder as the noises spread through the long narrow halls. A ticking noise follows me and I feel it with every move I make. As I am drawing near the end of the hallway, and reach the stairs descending down, down into the dreadful dungeon I hear an ear deafening creak from behind me, and instantaneously look around, just then a swift figure moves past me . The door would revive the spirits who roamed around the castle. I run to the last door panting and fearing what awaits me. I tilt my head as I cry for help, “papa? Papa?” to which only an echo replies. Inquisitive, I seek the voice which speaks to me and follow this desire into the heart of the castle. Red curtains hang from the ceiling to reminisce the dark, and inexplicable history. I open the door handle, shaking, I slowly fear what awaits me on the other side. I am suddenly awakened by a room with bulging grey stones covering the walls all around me. I descend the tight, cramped spiral staircase in pitch black, with not a soul in sight, only a small ray of light that shines

I walked through blurring snow and glistening flakes that were swirling around me up the hill to the old barn door in order to find shelter in the blizzard. I pushed open the door just enough to get through and entered the barn. There were fresh hay bales all over and I sat down on one and looked around examining my surroundings. I did a quick scan and nothing caught my attention at first, however, I scanned again and I saw what appeared to be an old antique chest in the far left corner of the barn. I walked over to it and saw what appeared to be a old lock on it that was hanging open.…

She walked down the cold, dark corridor as she felt the soft and quiet wind run her by causing her to experience an ice-cold chill that ran up her spine. It was merely past six in the afternoon, yet the eerie atmosphere made it appear as if she were standing in the middle of a cemetery at the darkest hour of the night. The hot, moisty air made her clothes and hair cling to her skin. Her hands began to shake and sweat trickled down her palms. She swore she heard someone’s voice whisper her name, but perhaps it was simply the wind.…

I slowly searched the attic and found no trace of the calculator, as I made my way back to the stairs that lead to the attic I lost balance and stepped on a old floor board, it called me out, letting out a loud groan that revealed me to anything that was hiding in the darkness. I froze in my tracks, hoping that none of the silent shadows were hiding in the darkness of the attic. Almost in an instant, a silent shadow emerged from seemingly out of thin air, it let out the most terrifying sound that I would not have guessed they were capable of creating, it began laughing like a small girl would, starting out with small giggles then slowly changing to loud shrieks of high pitched laughter while taking slow, long, steps towards me. I felt goosebumps form on my arms a shiver ran down my back. I sprinted down the stairs and…
