In tumbling people could land our their foot wrong and possibly even break it. Every year there are thousands or cheerleaders that land wrong in their tumbling and end up at the hospital. Out of all the injuries, ankle injuries which are 44.9% are the most common (Geier). The wrist and hand comes second with 19.3%. In third is the knee with 11.9% (Geier). In cheerleading stunting is the most dangerous part. Thousands of flyers, which are the people that get thrown in the air, get sent to the hospital every year for injuries. Flyers have to trust their side bases and back spot, which are the people that throw them in the air, to catch them. The flyers pretty much give their live to their side bases and back spot. If their bases and backspot don’t catch them they can get seriously injured. If their bases don’t catch them some of the flyers end up in a wheelchair paralyzed.
The side spot and back spot also both have very dangerous jobs. The side spot and the back spot through the flyer up in the air and do some crazy stunts. Every year the coaches make the stunts harder to make their teams better to be able to compete with the teams that get better as well. Side spots and back spots are reliable for their flyer, they have to catch them no matter what and don’t let them hit the
