How many times can I eat mat before I actually get my back tuck down? I really need to have it before I try out for my school’s cheerleading team. It will really raise my chances of actually getting on the Varsity Cheer Squad. I have been at my gym for almost four hours. When I say my gym, I mean the gym I cheer at after school. Anyway, it is now nine o’ clock and the only that that I have actually gotten down is my self-esteem. Hooray for no confidence.
I know my parents will want me home soon so I decide to try one more time. I count in my head “5,6,7,8, HIT, HIT, PULL.” I find myself level to the ground once more. I know now that I am not getting my tuck any time soon so I decide to gather my belongings to head home.
In case you were wondering, “hit, hit, pull” is a term cheerleaders use. When you “hit” that means you are striking your jumps as extended as possible. When you “pull” you

At that time, you will do your two j favorite jumps and your standing tumbling if you have it ready. There were four cheerleaders whose deficits ranged from Down syndrome, psychological, speech, low muscle tone, also across the autism spectrum. In which, Cheerleading enhances the following: attention span, comprehension, organization, sequencing, increased endurance, postural control, and increases social skills. Not only did I get the chance to interact with younger girls and set a good role model, but I also got the chance to work with other girls my age who have talent and loves cheerleading just as much as I do! The two camps I was a part of was the Danny Lansanah Football/Cheerleading Camp and the Packers & Broncos Cheerleading Camp. Both camps were located at John Harris High School for ages 5-14 and were free with food provided. During both camps my job was to focus on the basic skills you need to learn to become a cheerleader and also make up a routine to teach the girls.…

In high school, you see the soccer players, the football players, the track team and many other sports teams on the football field. On the court you see volleyball players and basketball players playing as "sports teams", but you never hear of the other team in their bows and skirts being referred to as a sports team. That's because cheerleading hasn't made its way to be a sport yet. While people might think that they don't compete or that they just yell and smile, they do much more like competing, supporting, jumping, tumbling, stunting and so many other things. Cheerleaders deserve the right to have their activity made a sport because they meet the criteria of the definition of sport, they're very similar to other athletes, and they're required to meet the same expectations as every other sports team.…

However, the trouble with throwing the word “sport” around is that most people would not be able to correctly define exactly what a sport is. Some will say there has to be a ball, but what about hockey? They don’t use a ball. Others say a sport has to require skill, but someone can be skilled at balancing a pen on their lips but that is not a sport. According to Merriam-Webster’s definition, a sport is a contest or game in which people do certain physical activities according to a specific set of rules and compete against each other.…
