I thought I was very special, but I didn 't know what I was getting into. When I tried out on the varsity cheer team, my coach made me an alternate. Being an alternate didn 't last long before she actually put me on the mat. Just like any other cheerleading, I thought it was just going around school yelling chants about my school 's football team. So, I was wrong, but not completely because that was also apart of cheer but it was called sideline cheer. Competitive cheer was just a little different. I started out being a flyer. A couple of days later my coach realized that I had a lot of strength so I had was also a base. A main base was my ultimate skill. We practice mostly every day to get closer to that competition day. In 2011, I learned many lessons. Although I have found cheerleading enjoyable, cheerleading can be a life threatening sport, and the consequences can be fatal.

The lesson that I learned from this experience was that the only way out was to get through it. I started it was my brain was convinced to stay and finish it for the rest of my high school years. Once Cheerleading becomes competitive it is a life threatening sport. Cheerleading is unsafe

She never said that she didn’t want to cheer anymore or fear that she would get hurt again.
