Football players prepare for the game by tackling each other, throwing the ball, and putting on their helmets. Soccer players prepare for the game by kicking the ball, making some headers, and adjusting their cleats. Baseball players prepare for the game by catching the ball, swinging the bat, and sliding on their gloves. Cheerleaders are completely different. They prepare for the game by spending hours doing their hair and makeup, constantly adjusting their uniform in the mirror, and avoiding food on game day. After cheering at a single McIntosh Football Game, I learned that while other sports focus on winning, cheerleaders focus on getting attention, looking good, and attracting guys.
